ACCOUNT MANAGER - RAE COILS
Department: 352-SALES / RAE COILS
FLSA Status: Exempt
Job Status: Full Time
Reports To: Brian Murray
Amount of Travel Required: 25% to 50 %
Work Schedule: 8 AM - 5 PM, M-F
POSITION SUMMARY: Support and growth of RAE Corporation Commercial and Industrial Coil sales activities. Relationship building, technical support, and overall Account Management are key components of this positions' responsibility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS STATEMENT:
- Monitor sales performance according to established sales plans on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, year-to-date and annual basis.
- Develop and initiate sales campaigns and follow marketing plan guidelines in order to meet sales and production expectations.
- Travel to sales distribution offices and customer locations to support and develop sales channels. Assist those staff members in house that are supporting other team members that are traveling. Travel is estimated to be 40% with some weekend travel required.
- Communicate with customers and distribution to provide sales quotations, Coil Software training and Account Management.
- Provide technical support for customers and distribution. This includes technical drawings, product selection and field application of the products. Demonstrate and explain the operation and use of products.
- Utilize computer skills for selection of products, preparation of sales presentations and communication with customers and distribution.
- Provide sales service, working with customers and corporate resources to solve problems that may develop.
- Complete travel reports in a timely manner. Prepare expense reports from travel in a timely manner and according to established company procedures.
- Maintain and continue professional and technical development. Attend educational workshops, review professional publications, establish personal networks and participate in professional societies.
- Maintain professional attitude within the workplace. Be considerate of others within the work environment and strive to produce as a member of the team.
- Educate one-self on competitors and their products.
- Responsibilities include support of sales representatives throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico travel, presentation of product to major industrial and engineering accounts, and quotation activity.
- Negotiate prices, terms of sales and shipping schedules. Maintain customer records, using automated systems.
- Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences.
- Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information such as selling strategies and marketing information.
- Inform customers of estimated delivery schedules, warranties, or other information pertaining to purchased products. Attend sales and trade meetings, and read related publications in order to obtain information about market conditions, business trends, and industry developments.
- Comply with government regulations, laws, company policies and company procedures.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Education: A two year post-secondary technical education in air conditioning and refrigeration, or a BSME is desired for this position. Equivalent experience within the air conditioning, refrigeration and heat transfer industry may be an acceptable alternative.
- Work Experience: It is beneficial for the employee to have prior sales experience similar to the job duties of this position, and to have already developed the skills required to perform the sales functions.
- Communication: It is essential that the employee be able to accurately receive and understand instructions. The employee must have good listening skills in order to receive verbal instructions and act appropriately upon those instructions. It is essential that the employee be able to read and comprehend written technical instructions. It is important that the employee is able to analyze instructions and to determine if further information is required from the supervisor before attempting to complete the task assigned.
- Mathematical Skills: It is essential that the employee be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Analyze groups of data to determine trends versus anomalies, and recommend a course of action. Employees will need to be able to convert from decimal to fraction and vice versa.
- People Skills: The employee must be able to effectively communicate and work with people. Relationship building is paramount and the employee must be able to establish and build professional relationships. An ability to accomplish work as a member of the team is mandatory. The employee must be able to resolve conflict in a positive manner. Although this position is not a supervisory position, it is beneficial that the employee display leadership qualities; such as establishing work goals and having the initiative to carry those goals through to completion.

The employee must be honest, trustworthy and dedicated to performing the job satisfactorily. Additionally, the employee must be able to work within a technical sales environment and represent RAE Corporation in a professional manner at all times.
- Appearance: It is essential that the employee present a professional sales appearance. While representing RAE Corporation the employee will always be neat and clean, and dressed appropriately for the occasion. The employee must be able to ascertain from either experience or from co-workers the appropriate presentation for a variety of sales activities, and then present themselves accordingly.
